At fifty-four George is a bit of a surprise philosopher living in the West Midlands with his wife. They are active in their community and spend much of their spare time as members of a dance club. This is particularly fun for George who has been exposed to current bands and musicians others his age have never heard of. George has a primary philosopher focus on the impacts (both positive and negative) that technology has on humankind and the world. That said George has achieved a certain amount of balance in his life; the Circus's have a garden and George is up for trying anything once. Daily he looks forward to retirement and spending more time on the things he loves. He is also looking forward to more travel. He's been to New Zealand but would really like to visit South America.

George is now enjoying his semi-retirement; he has more time to devote to his hobbies, as his part-time consultancy work is now purely undertaken for interest rather than financial need, and he can work from home. He travels frequently on holiday with Mrs Circus, who is delighted his semi-retirement has led to the completion of their bungalow's renovation. Conscious of his increasing carbon footprint, George recently bought an electric hybrid car; however his flights off on holiday to sample foreign cuisine in Japan and dance the Samba in Brazil reflect the increasingly selfish ways in which society now lives.
