Character Profile

Calavera

Calavera is a twenty-seven year-old energy scientist living in a sustainable single dwelling unit in the tropics with her husband and three children. She gets around the island on her bicycle or via sustainable means of transport. The majority of her trips are motivated by her pursuit of the seas and natural wonders, and she has even managed a trip to the North and South Pole. She leads a simple, honest life and cares about protecting the environment. An earnest, hardworking person, Calavera believes in tomorrow because that is the purpose of today.
Calavera thinks that nature will hold the key to sustainable living, and it is now a significant influence on his life. As I scientist he now focuses his research upon a solution to the energy crisis. His family and his children's educations are a major priority in Calavera's life, particularly since the global population has had to become more environmentally knowledgeable to mitigate their impacts upon the Earth. The family cycle whenever possible, and eat locally sourced food, turning more towards a vegetarian diet, with its lower carbon impact.
Calavara's world has become more sophisticated in terms of political rules and systems. Nations find they are either part of the global community or are not and thus left to fight on their own; only a few poorer countries fall into the latter category. Low carbon footprint lifestyles are the norm, assisted by the fact that the general level of education available to people has increased tremendously. Calavera notices people are making more informed choices about their lifestyles and are demanding positive changes; they believe this is reflected by the rejection of fossil fuels and widespread use of nuclear energy.
Calavera believes that the world is now greener than it was 50 years ago, thanks to regulations which control carbon footprints in all aspects of people's daily lives; it is quite normal to demand goods and services that have little or no carbon footprint. Society is still primarily motivation by money however, and clean water is becoming scarcer. Despite this the seas are crucial food sources. Increased education has created a more informed society, more aware of the planetary costs inherent in production processes. Public transport and energy supplies have turned to renewable sources, although these are still not entirely widespread.
Yes, I think there's sufficient will and determination from the human race to propel us through any difficulties at any age. People will fight against all odds with the aids of emerging technology as well as renewed understanding of how the earth has to be loved and protected. Most importantly, people will learn that there will be no life without striking a balance in the way we live and the way earth survives. People are taking space travel to see how the state of our earth and working 'cleanly' with optimal carbon footprints.
