Blueman is a true 21st century renaissance man. After a wasteful upbringing he has devoted his life to living in balance with the environment, which is sometimes easier said than done. He lives outside Ontario Canada in a commune and shares a house, which is a passive design, with his family. Blueman is an inventor, entrepreneur, freelance urban farmer and consultant. Most of his work is focused on sustaining his life style and helping others do the same. The biggest impact he has on the environment is his growth and consumption of food he barters and trades most things amongst his follow co-op members but does spend money on energy generation technology such as solar panels and wind turbines.

Blueman has recently learnt how to use less, more efficiently, and is changing his living patterns to exist with a lower carbon life-style. He eats far more locally produced food, and works from home, rather than travelling into an office. Family and friends, from the local community to the wider world, are still important, and Blueman's immediate family has grown with the arrival of two more children. Locally he travels by bike but for further distances Blueman takes his air balloon, powered by photovoltaics.
