Name:
Sophie

30
Occupation:
Marketing
Where do they live (geographic coordinates or location)?
South West London
Why did they choose to live where they live?
Due to career prospects and meeting new people. It's an ideal time in her life to enjoy the fast pace of London life and be able to move out of the city later on in her thirties
What kind of dwelling do they occupy?
2 bedroom Victorian flat
With whom do they live?
One other flat mate, aged 31
How do they get to work?
40 minutes on the Tube
How do they get around their community in general?
Public transport - busses and trains are quicker than driving a car
How do they relate to the people in their community?
Not much interaction at all, it's a very unsociable community. Occasional conversation with the neighbours, but not much despite living on top of each other.
Who do they interact with most?
Downstairs neighbour with whom they share a front door and entrance

Yes, one or two holidays a year
Where have they commonly traveled?
To other European countries, for weekends to cities or to Greece/ Turkey places for week holidays.

To Canada - once

New Zealand, for the outdoors lifestyle and amazing views

Keep it healthy.

Lamb chops, asapargus and new potatoes. Lobster.

Batchelors Degree
How much do they earn monthly?
After tax - just over £2,000
What was their most expensive purchase?
Generally holidays or an electronic item such as her home laptop
How do they relate to material wealth?
They are at an age whereby they earn their own money, and don't have any dependants, so are able to affort a few nice luxuries. Material wealth is important as the focus is on being able to affort their own property.
What is their global footprint? To what do you attribute the largest part of their footprint? (ie travel, purchases, food)
I'd say the global footprint is low, due to not driving, however their largest contributor would be travel. Approx 2 trips a year to Europe, with perhaps one that is longer haul?
What are their hobbies and interests?
The outdoors and sports. For example, surfing, hiking, camping etc. Getting out of London to the coast.
What is their favourite colour?
Blue
Who is their favourite music band?
General mix of all musics. Particular preference to latest bands e.g. Killers and Kings of Leon, although not a festival goer.
What was the last book they read?
She regularly reads on the tube every morning and evening, so constantly goes through books. She prefers something slightly intelectual or challenging, like The Shadow of the Wind, or Blink.
What is their attitude toward technology and why?
They appreciate technology within their daily lives and routines, and love it. The sat nav to help navigate long car journeys, the digital TV recorder to catch the programmes she misses when she's out in the evenings, and the ipod and iphone to organise her diary and music.
What technology could they not live without?
Mobile Phone
What are their key values?
Enjoying life and the outdoors. Appreciating time out of London. Most importantly where possible, to help give something back to the world we live in. This is either through volunteering, or considering a Gap holiday which includes conservation.
How would you describe their upbringing? How have things changed?
Upbringing was very standard, Conservative area, good Grammer schools, and living in the home counties, so always having an appreciation for the tourism of London.

Kids aren't able to run around in the streets anymore, and 'just be home in time for dinner'. Parents have to keep track of them via their own mobile phone from a young age, and kids are under pressure to have the latest technology as well as clothing.

Computers are also keeping kids indoors more. It is possible that families are less happy as they don't have their own space and are staynig indoors more and feeling on top of each other.
What are their personal strengths and weaknesses?
Independant living, to be able to fend for herself with her career, rent and expenses. To build her own strong circle of friends around her in the city. To be able to deal with a fast paced life and keep up with both work and social.

Her weaknesses are more physical - the strain of living such a fast paced life inside a city of smog and not clean air.
What is their next big life event?
A big holiday trip that includes conservation and exploration somewhere outside of Europe.
What do they care about?
Life, the planet and friends and family
What six words would describe their personality or character traits?
Happy, Optimistic, Outgoing, Strong, Personable, Determined
What do they believe in and why?
They believe in a better world - for people to appreciate the life they live in and to be able to stop and look around at it every now and again. Her ideal job would be to do marketing for an outdoors/ adventure company and to be able to persuade families and individuals to make the most of the world we currently live in. To really see and appreciate it, not just to put the recycling in the correct bin.
